Donald Trump is now hinting that a meeting with Kim Jong-Un could still take place. The sharp U-turn comes less than 24 hours after the U.S. president called off the summit with the North Korean leader – scheduled for June in Singapore.
The US President thanked North Korea for a “very nice statement” as he said talks were ongoing between the two countries. It was an abrupt change in tone, just a day after he called off plans for a historic bilateral summit. Now, Mr Trump says the meeting could go ahead on the same dates as originally planned.
